Metallography Products for fine grinding and polishing
Moyco Metallography Products are engineered for best results in preparing sample specimens for microscopic examination. This process usually starts with a fine grinding step, which removes deformation that exists due to cutting or grinding. The next step removes the deformation caused by the fine grinding step, leaving the surface of the specimen highly reflective and ready for examination under a microscope.

For fast and efficient fine grinding, Wet/Dry Silicon Carbide Papers are used in a several step operation. For very hard surfaces such as ceramics and sintered carbides, diamond films are recommended. The polishing process requires the use of polishing cloths of different resiliance with a range of abrasives. To achieve consistent and reliable polishing of hard surfaces, diamond films are available from 0.1 to 60.0 mic.
Wet/Dry SiC Papers for fine grinding applications
Our SiC papers are fast cutting, tightly-graded particle for uniform and consistent fine grinding. Our product range covers 60 to 4000 grit sizes (approx 200 to 1 micron). They are available on 8-, 10- and 12-inch disks, with or without Adhesive Back (PSA).
Polishing Foils for fine grinding applications
When flatness is of utmost importance, Moyco offers a fine grinding film coated on 5-mil polyester film. Made with tightly-graded, sharp silicon carbide particles coated on 5-mil polyester film that is highly resilient to wet polishing. The polishing foils are available in 14 to 180 micron, in sizes of 8-, 10- and 12-inch disks.
Polishing Cloths for polishing applications Our cloths have been designed to enhance the polishing characteristics of diamond pastes and suspensions. Available polishing pads include Nylon, Heavy Nylon, Blue Suede, Satin Acetate and Black-Chem in 8-, 10- and 12-inch round sizes. They are available with PSA. We also now offer NEW Metallized Backing for a clean and quick operation. Just use your magnetic plate to hold your pad down.
Diamond Films
Use for fast and efficient grinding and polishing of very hard surfaces such as ceramics or carbides. Available in 0.1 to 100 mic in 2- to 16-inch disks.
